Step into the past!  Our Grade 6 & 7 students had an incredible field trip to Sithannavasal &  Thirumayam on 25th Jan.  Sithanavasal literally translate to the abode of the great saints. It houses the Arivar Kovil and also hosts 17 polished rock beds used by great Jain saints who have conquered their senses.  Students were thrilled to see the 2000 year old painting made of vegetable dyes and minerals in the rock cut cave site.

Later that day, they travelled to Thirumayam fort and had a glimpse of how our kings protected themselves by building forts and how facilities like secret chambers and storage units were created to withstand long standing battles. Followed by a visit to the Shiva temple at the base.

Through this trip, we tried to expose our students to how people, place and power influences the time and history.

From ancient paintings to historic forts, it was a day of curiosity, learning and unforgettable memories!  #FieldTripVibes
